Taco Soup with Mila

This is one of our favorites and it is so easy to make.

1 lb ground turkey or lean beef

1 large onion chopped

1 (1 oz) pkg Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix

1 (1 oz) package Taco Seasoning Mix

1 (16 oz) can pinto beans
1 (16 oz) can chili beans (hot or regular)

1 (16 oz) can whole kernel corn

1 (8oz) can Mexican-style tomatoes

1 (8oz0 can diced tomatoes, any flavor

Brown meat & onions and drain

Mix Ranch & Taco seasonings into meat

Add rest of ingredients, undrained to mixture

Simmer 1 hour

Yum- I add 1/2 to 1 scoop of Mila to the bowl with some cheese and/or sour cream, just before I serve it. You are going to love it!!!

Mila Almond Milk Pudding

Yum - this is one of my favorites!!

4 oz of Vanilla Almond Milk
1 scoop of Mila
Handful of raisins
dash of cinnamon

Mix all of the above ingredients together and let the mixture sit for about one hour. It will taste like Cinnamon Life Cereal but it's good for you!!!

Egg Salad Sandwich

This one is kind of a no brainer. Once you realize you can add it to their sandwiches, you will come up with all kinds of ideas. We hide it between peanut butter and jelly a lot as well.

Cage Free Eggs
Mayonaisse
Mila
Bread

Hard boil 4 eggs, peel the eggs and smash them with a spoon or fork. Add 1/8 cup of mayonaisse and 2 scoops of Mila. Spread on bread and serve. You can also choose to add the Mila after you spread the egg on the bread as shown in this picture.

Muffins, Muffins, Muffins

I make muffins a couple of times/week. Whatever the recipe is, I take out the oil and add 5 scoops of Mila and about 1/8 cup of water. The 5 scoops will give you just under 1/2 scoop per muffin. If it is an apple muffin recipe (like Fiber One Apple Cinnamon Muffins) I shred/grate a peeled apple into the mix and add an additional 1/2 cup of applesauce. Here is a recipe for Pumpkin Mila Muffins that is awesome!!

1/2 cup butter at room temp

3/4 cup dark brown sugar

1/3 cup molasses

1 egg

1 cup cooked or canned pumpkin (about 8 oz)

1 and 3/4 cups of flour

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

1 and 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon

1 tsp of nutmeg

1/4 cup raisins

5 scoops of Mila

1/4 cup of water

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees, grease muffin cups or use paper liners.

2. With an electric mixer, cream the butter until soft. Add the sugar and molasses and beat until light and fluffy.

3. Add the egg, Mila, water, pumpkin and stir

4. Sift over the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Fold just enough to blend, do not overmix.

5. Fold the raisins in.

6. Spoon the batter into the cups filling them 3/4 full.

7. Bake until the tops spring back lightly when touched 12-15 minutes. Serve warm or cold.

YUM!!

French Toast with Mila

My first tip...keep your Mila in a tight lid glass or plastic container on the counter. This way it is always in your view. With every meal that you are preparing you should be thinking, "Can I put Mila in this?". After 21 days, it will become a habit, I promise!!!

For the French Toast, I use:

2 Cage Free eggs
1 scoop of Mila
4 pieces of bread
1 tsp of vanilla
dash of cinnamon

Mix the ingredients together, soak the bread in the mixture and put it on a hot skillet ( I use Pam Olive Spray to make sure it doesn't stick). Flip the bread when it is light brown and put it on your child's plate. Add some strawberries or bananas for a little flare. As you can see Camden is drinking 1/2 scoop of Mila in his orange juice and he ate 2 pieces of the French Toast- that is 1 scoop down at 7:15 am, WOOHOO!!!

How do I get my kids to eat Mila?

This is a question that I am asked at least weekly so I thought that I would revisit this old blog that I started 2 years ago and turn it into a blog on how I get my boys to eat Mila. When I first found out about Mila my boys were 9 months old and 3 years old. My oldest, Matthew was regulary in the preschool office for bad behavior and had such bad constipation that he would sit on the potty and cry and bleed every couple of days. Needless to say, they needed Mila badly. I was working at least 10 hours per day and just did not have the time to feed them properly so I am ashamed to say, I didn't. When I researched Mila, it was clear to me that I would be taking a huge step forward regarding my boys' nutrition and health if I could just get them to eat Mila every day.

Well back then it was easy, I purchased colored cups with colored lids and colored straws and mixed the Mila in with their orange juice. I always give them 1/2 water and 1/2 orange juice in their glasses, so I just started adding 1/2 scoop of Mila to this. It was like drinking orange juice with pulp- no problem. Of course Camden was so little that I would just mix it into his baby food most of the time, but the orange juice was an easy choice for Matthew. Within days, his behavior was immensely improved and he was no longer constipated, thankfully daily bowel movements became a regular thing in this house after Mila, which makes everyone happy.

About 6 months ago, Matthew developed a severe aversion to Mila. Anything that even looks like it has "polka dots" (that is what we call them) in it, he won't eat. So, I became a little lazy, I didn't want to fight with him about it, so days would go by with no Mila. Then his behavior started to slip, he would get in trouble at school, hit his brother at home. Homework after school was not possible and getting to school on time became a miserable chore because he couldn't even focus to get his clothes on. That is when I got serious. I started experimenting and figured out many many different ways to get Mila in his meals. It is crazy to me that his body needs the Omega 3s and fiber so badly that if he misses just one day, we can tell.

I was with a friend last night who told me that she tried to give her kids (7 and 4) Mila once, she put it in their drinks and told them to drink it. They said no and that was that. Moms, this stuff is too good and too important for your child's health to give up that easily. It is our responsibility to make sure that our children are getting the nutrients that they need for as long as we possibly can, no one else is going to do it, so we have to. I can show you medical study after medical study with conclusions that Omega 3s increse their IQs, their reading abilities, their focus, decrease ADHD symptoms, the list goes on and on and on. Your children need this!!

I will do my best to add pictures to each post, if you have any questions about how I cooked or did something, please don't hesitate to email me at Rpaskegarc@aol.com

My Lifemax Story- 2 years later

In August of 2008 I was 30 lbs overweight, working 10-12 hour days as a Physician’s Assistant in a busy dermatology office, the brand new owner of a skincare retail store and the mother of 2 little boys ages 9 months and 3 years, and I was a mess. I, as many women in this country, had gotten myself into a trap. I made a consistent 6 figure income working as a PA but never had time with my children. My husband and I had developed a certain lifestyle for ourselves which was based on a two income household. I knew that I needed to be spending more time at home with my boys focusing on their nutrition and just being with them but I couldn’t with my busy job and I saw no way out. I had every single book that Robert Kiyosaki had ever written in my library, knew all about the woes of being an employee and was sick of working my tail off to make someone else money, thus the decision to invest in my own skin care retail store with $25,000 in August of 2008. When my brothers asked me to give them my advice on a whole raw food packed with Omega 3s, I begrudgingly started to examine Mila. After doing a huge amount of research on Mila, I joined Lifemax as a distributor the same month that I started my skin care store.

Eight months later the dermatology office that I had worked in for four years was closing because the owner of the practice (also my business partner) was moving and I was looking at starting out all over again in another office. It was then that my accountant asked me what Lifemax was. Under my breath, preparing myself for his reaction I said “It’s network marketing”, he said “whatever it is you have made more money with this than you have with your 25K investment in the skincare store, how hard do you work at it?” Up until this point in April of 2009 I had sold A LOT of Mila, I had signed some distributors up but definitely had not been working the business. When my accountant, who sees everyone’s bank accounts, encouraged me to focus on my network marketing business, it changed my whole outlook on Lifemax. I went home and prayed about not taking another full time job and felt strongly that I was supposed to focus on my Lifemax business. I wanted to know why everyone runs the other way when you say “network marketing” and I wanted to do it differently. I have spent the last 17 months, doing it differently.

When I picked up Kiyosaki’s new book The Business of the 21st Century earlier this year and realized that I finally have that large business I had always wanted, I was shocked. What an amazing contrast, to have started a skin care retail store with $25,000 the exact same month that I started my Lifemax business for under $4,000. Now two years later, I have had employees and lost employees with the skin care store. I have had a location and lost a location with the skin care store. I carry around skincare products in my car and have to keep track of inventory, taxes and endless paperwork with my skin care store. With Lifemax, I have over 800 people working with me in 4 different countries; no inventory to carry around, very little paperwork and I am continuously making 3-4 times the amount of money I make monthly with the skin care store. Wow!!

If you had asked me in 2008 what I would be doing at the age of 40, I would have said, “seeing 40-50 patients per day in a dermatology office.” I saw no way out; there was no hope for me to get out of the rat race I was in. I can tell you now that I will NEVER see 40-50 patients per day again. I am working 10 hours per week seeing patients and spend the rest of my time building my Lifemax business and spending time with my family. I can now take my children to school and take Fridays off if I want to (that doesn’t happen in a cosmetic dermatology office). This is truly the most rewarding thing I have ever done. Every morning I wake up and ask God whose life I can help change today and a life is truly changed in this business every single day. Why do 1 out of 3 children in America eat fast food every day? Because the moms are working!!! We don’t have time to cook meals because we are working so hard to keep up with the bills. What if we can make our children healthier AND change their home life by giving them their mothers back? Talk about changing the health and wealth of the world!!!

My story is different than many of the others you have read in that I did not make hundreds of thousands of dollars in my first year with Lifemax, mine is a story of perseverance and commitment. I am not going to tell you that every day is easy, but I will tell you that if you set your goals and you commit to working at least a little bit every single day at this business and NEVER GIVE UP, you cannot fail!! I run two businesses, see patients, am a wife, and a mother to two young children and I am here to tell you that you can do this. It is okay if you don’t make a lot of money in the first few months or even in the first year, just stick with it. Understand that this business is all about doing the little things over and over and over again and then teaching others to do the same thing. Remember that we are not distributing laundry detergent, or a juice with antioxidants, we are sharing a whole raw food that is changing lives all over the world and if you don’t quit you cannot fail. It doesn’t get much better than that. I truly believe that we have all been given a gift, a gift that we must share with others.

My tips for a successful business? If you are a prayer, pray over your business every single day just like you pray over your children. Pray for divine appointments, if you pray for them He will bring them to you. Find something that keeps you motivated. When I have a bad day (and we all have those days) I just look at my nephew Bo. His mother was told three years ago that he was severely autistic, 70% developmentally delayed and would never be in a school that was not for autistic children. (We aren’t making any medical claims, I am just telling you what happened.) After three months on Mila his teachers said it was like he came out of a fog. Bo just finished his third week of kindergarten in a mainstream public elementary school with no other autistic children. Bo and my sister’s lives were forever changed because of Mila. I don’t care how many nos I have to hear, I am going to scream about Mila from the rooftops because it is changing lives all over the world every single day, whose life can you change??
